I liked this concise and well written guide to weight loss and exercise. It is especially useful because it put responsibility in the hands of the only person with the power to make changes in my life, yo. This book helped me to identify barriers to regular exercise and develop strategies for each chapter to keep track. More importantly, I found this book a good tool to identify and work through barriers in all aspects of my life. Nothing like that I recommend.

This book was very useful for me as it really delves into the motivations behind my failures diet. I learned a lot of different sections of not taking responsibility for my actions (or inactions) and not put my needs sufficiently high on my list of priorities. I recommend this book for those seeking something more than a psychological take dietary failures.

There are no tricks in this book, just good solid advice for novice and experienced Dieter. If you want to probe some of the reasons behind its failure as a dieter, this book can help in this process. Some of the tips may seem obvious at first, but eventually, there will be issues that in turn one and again in their specific trip.
There are 10 chapters. My favorite in the book are (in order of my preference):
Chapter 7 – unruly emotions are ruling your life?
, Chapter 4 – Do you accept responsibility for the decisions you make?
Chapter 8 – How is your mistakes?
Each chapter deals with a specific behavior or belief system that may be interfering with your success in losing weight. Chapter 3 examines the hidden agendas that might have, but can not be considered. Chapter 1 checks whether or not prepared for change. Each section has questions that can be done to see if the information may be applicable. Then there are direct, offering solutions to short for many of the major problems as defined in the section.
This is not a book for people who like or write new tricks sermons. This is a guide written by two PH. D psychologists who have years of experience. And yet, does not read like a dissertation. It has a very practical “hands on” tone. If you want advice real world, this is a good book to read.

This book could work for someone who has never thought about the goals and priorities, which is grossly overweight, and considering the bad year.
I’m twenty kilos overweight, eating less than a thousand calories a day healthy and exercising gently (I have 57 and I had a heart attack). My doctors can not understand why I gained weight. My nutritionist can not solve. They just write off as “Oh, well, you’re older and maybe your metabolism has slowed.” Great help.
I thought I would learn something from this book that I can clarify, but it’s all just basic logic simple land. If you know your motives, have set goals, and are aware of what you’re doing and why, this book offers nothing new. If you are trying to diet and exercise for the first time and are completely clueless, you can get something from him.
